Hiking the Egan Range

Looking down on Cummins Lake

Yes, kissing the FLAT ground.

Looking back up to where we came from.
Seriously, it was steeper than it looks.
You can ask our knees.

Hiking the Egan Range.

Where's Josh?
Did I mention it was steep?

We were killing time, dreading the hike back down.

Cute hiker--he was quite the trooper.
It was a very difficult climb.

We made it to a ridge and looked over to Cummins Lake.

Hiking the Egan Range.

Ward Mountain peak in the back to the left.
We didn't make it there this time, but hope to someday.

I don't think this photo does justice to the steep terrain.
Notice...no trail, we were going cross country.

Just taking a short break to shed the jackets.

Looking back toward the mine. Those pits are amazing.

A view of the upper terrace where we parked.
Can you believe how green it is. Is this really Nevada?
